The Outsiders Writing Prompt #1:
Author S.E. Hinton's novel The Outsiders explores the following idea:
"When parental love and approval is absent, the approval of friends may be a substitute, but never a wholly satisfactory substitute."
Based on your personal experiences, do you believe this idea to be true?
TASK:
Prepare a written response that provides enough supporting details and specific examples to develop your answer. Showcase your best use of the English language
( If you lack the life experience to answer this question, interview an adult to gather their opinion on the statement’s truth. When you write your response, be sure to give the reader some identification of the adult. If they do not want to be identified by name, at least identify the gender and age of the adult.)
*** Please know that you will be expected to share this writing with a peer in class. **
