Due Friday:
Write your 3 sentence scary story on an 8 1/2" X 11" piece of paper. You can type it but please use big font. Remember, this will go on the bulletin board, so it needs to be visible, neat, creative and without errors. Let's go for a 100% homework record on this!

I wanted to share a link the librarian sent out for free audio books. Audio books are great for car rides and for times you are just hanging out at home.

This link will also lead you to downloadable books for your e-readers.  When you download them, they stay on your e-reader for 3 weeks and then magically disappear. Best part is-they are free!

Due Thursday: An expansion of one of your "bowl question" responses (1/2 page-1 page TYPED). The idea of the bowl questions is to spark a story, so please don't feel trapped to just answering the question. For example, if you chose to expand on the prompt "What makes me happy?" you could write about a moment you felt happy and avoid starting the essay with, "Water skiing makes me happy because...." Strive to write an essay like the one I read in class by Sophie McKibbon-engaging and descriptive.

Hopefully it was not too arduous to be at school today :) Tonight continue to practice combining sentences using the 'because' and 'series' methods on the teacher example.

• Quick F.A.N.B.O.Y.S. quiz
• 'Trading Places' essay (if you chose to do some revisions after guided reflection time in class)
• Book Recommendations presented on manila folder (remember there will be an emphasis on MUGS. These will be hanging on the wall, so you want your work to be your best. Proofread!)

**Note; The book recommendation project is in lieu of the reading logs that were due this week.

Welcome back! How crazy to have a 4 day weekend the week before vacation!

There has been a change in the reading log assignment. I will NOT be collecting your reading logs tomorrow, February 13th. Instead of a reading log this time around, I am going to ask you to write a book review for a book you recently read. I will explain the assignment in class on Wednesday, so please do not worry about it tonight.
