HOMEWORK -- due Tuesday, June 7, 2011

1. Continue working in your "Tuesdays With Morrie Vocabulary Log".  Aim to complete all sections through "The Third Tuesday: We Talk About Regrets."

2. Response Journal, Entry#4:  In "The Classroom," Morrie tells Mitch that dying is one thing to be sad about, but living unhappily is even worse. Morrie goes on to say that most people are, in fact, unhappy, mostly because they try to follow what culture tells them to do, even though it’s not what they want for themselves.

For your next response, find an adult you admire and ask permission to interview them. During your interview, ask them these three questions:

  • What are some things that our society tells us we should do or be, even if that thing may not be right for us?
  • In your opinion, what seems to be society's definition of a successful person?
  • What is their definition of a successful person?

Take notes during your interview. Share the highlights of your interview in a one-page typed report.
